She was struggling after being the sole caretaker of her mother and losing her after she took a sudden turn. This has really helped her to have something to focus on and to channel her grief into. As more often than not other peoples words and apologies over a loss like that do nothing for the person who feels the greatest sting from the absence of their daily presence, but this has helped her to so much to find something real in the haze of her grief. The journaling exercises have helped me understand and work through the different forms of grief when it shows up in my everyday life. I found the reflections in this book to be comforting and educating using the journaling exercises to deal with difficulties such as finding balance, acceptance, and focus during a time of grief. This book teaches the important steps in the healing process and a plan on how to work through them. I learned through the journal activities in this book how to stay connected to my mother in a very positive and uplifting way by reflecting on my fond memories of her.
